Caught in a Rad Bromance

So, the holidays are over, well, except new years, which doesn't count cause I'm working. But, WOO! I've been all over, from San Fran to Houston, and I'm happy to be back relaxing in my weird little city. Though, don't be surprised if you see a Say Yes San Francisco popping up soon. I'm going to keep this short and sweet because I'm still fumbling to get back to normal after the ho-ho-ho-lidays. But if you are back in town and want to get back in the groove of this strange city, come check out Rad Bromance at Emo's tomorrow night at 9pm. Tickets are a measly $6, and hopefully your grandma sent you a few more bucks than that. If you haven't heard, Rad Bromance is the only ALL MALE LADY GAGA TRIBUTE BAND. So, how freakin' awesome is this going to be? They are all over the interwebs if you want to check them out.

Naughty or Nice?

Are you being naughty or nice today?

Nice:

Librarian's Night Out, 10:00pm, starts at none other than The Library. "Dress up as a classy, sexy in the old-fashioned way librarian. Pencil skirts, cardigans, and of course glasses. Gentlemen are welcome too! Break out those sweater vests and tweed jackets. We'll start out at The Library (of course), shushing those noisy patrons, and then wander through Sixth Street. As the night wears on, ties will be loosened, buns with be let down with a vixenish shake of the head, and maybe even (gasp!) the glasses will come off."

Naughty:

Santa Rampage! 7:30pm, Buford Tower, bring donations, dress like Santa, follow the Twitter, give gifts to children, and sing modified Christmas carols.

Or at least go downtown and sit on the sidelines to watch the fun unfold!

It's Here It's Here It's Finally Here!

No, not Christmas. Juicebox & Soup Peddler! They are finally open over on South Lamar near Manchaca. I've been driving by every week drooling, waiting for the grand opening. Finally, two days ago, I drove by and found they were open! They are still working on the cute little grassy patio, but they are definitely serving up steaming hot soup and fresh squeezed juice concoctions. If you've never tried Soup Peddler before, because you're forgetful or lazy or don't want to order without trying it first (aka, you're like me), now's your chance! I went with Tomato Basil and Head Cheerleader.

They also sell healthy treats!

You can check out the Soup Peddler menu daily on the Twitter.

I got my order to go, and they put the spoon in the cup so it sticks out of the drink hole, which prevents spilling while you're speeding down Lamar to get home and eat it. I thought that was cute. The soup came with a little piece of bread that was warm and delicious and perfect for dipping. The soup is more on the chunky side than the creamy side, which I kind of like. I was digging the Head Cheerleader, fruity, not overwhelmingly sweet, and very fresh. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable as well. Most of the soups are vegan or vegetarian which makes me happy. So get out there and enjoy some hot fresh soup and fresh squeezed juice in the 78704.
